I welcome patients of all ages, from children to the elderly. As an expert in both gentle, traditional healing methods and modern, minimally invasive surgical therapies, I provide you with personalised and continuous support throughout your individual journey towards recovery.

Since 2014, as a senior physician in the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the Evangelical Queen Elisabeth Hospital (KEH) in Berlin-Lichtenberg, I have been responsible for the entire spectrum of modern orthopedics and trauma surgery—from the holistic diagnostics, to the conservative treatment methods all the way to complex surgical treatments.

As a private practice, I (deliberately) operate independently of the statutory health insurance system. This is a practice for Privately insured individuals and self-pay patients.

01. Holistic Diagnostics

Lasting treatment begins with a thorough discussion of your medical history.

I take an integrative approach that focuses on you as a person with your individual needs.

I make a point of taking the time to have an in-depth conversation with you and gain a thorough understanding of your personal circumstances — because listening is the first step toward successful therapy.

Even at this stage, important clues about possible causes can often be identified.

This is followed by a thorough physical examination. Using manual diagnostic techniques, I identify functional disorders or blockages that may lead to restricted movement. In doing so, I examine not only the affected joint, but also adjacent structures and the overall biomechanics of your musculoskeletal system.

In addition, modern, gentle, and painless diagnostic procedures are available that enable precise diagnoses and support targeted treatments.

The following are used:

  • Ultrasound (Sonography)
    With referral:
  • X-ray
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration

02. Conservative Therapy

My goal is to treat your condition as gently and effectively as possible.

That is why I prefer non-surgical procedures and carefully explore all conservative treatment options.

My treatment approach takes your body as a whole into account, aiming to support its natural healing capacity and promote regenerative processes. Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs, lifestyle, and personal circumstances.

The foundation of modern orthopaedic and trauma care is a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system, combined with expertise across related medical disciplines.

I continuously expand my knowledge through ongoing professional education and close collaboration with colleagues from a wide range of medical specialties.

In doing so, I maintain close collaboration with specialists in osteopathy, physical medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy, to provide coordinated, patient-centred care.

My treatment approach combines evidence-based regenerative medicine, including extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, with established complementary techniques such as medical acupuncture, manual medicine, and osteopathic techniques.

My goal is to provide treatment that is as gentle, effective, and individually tailored as possible, while maintaining the highest standards of medical care.

03. Operational Therapy

If surgery becomes necessary.

My goal is to treat your condition as gently and effectively as possible. Whenever appropriate, I prioritise non-surgical treatment and carefully explore all suitable conservative options before considering surgery. Only if these measures do not provide the desired outcome or are not medically sufficient will I recommend a surgical procedure.

The decision on the most appropriate treatment is always made together with my patients. Through open and transparent discussion, careful consideration of the medical evidence, and a thorough evaluation of all available options, we develop the treatment plan that best suits your individual needs.

The various methods complement one another rather than being mutually exclusive. This results in a personalized treatment plan that is medically sound while also taking your individual needs into account.

Surgical care is typically provided in the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Königin Elisabeth Herzberge (KEH) in Berlin-Lichtenberg. In the event of an inpatient stay, the premium care ward offers not only first-class medical care but also exclusive accommodations with special services. In addition, the full spectrum of modern orthopedic and trauma surgery treatment options is available to you there.

Thanks to my many years of experience working in Berlin’s hospital system, I have an excellent network of experts and specialists from various medical fields. When necessary, I can easily draw on this network to ensure you receive the best possible treatment at all times.

I have been performing surgery for over 20 years. During this time, I have independently performed countless procedures and, as a senior physician in training, have mentored colleagues. As my experience has grown, I have continuously specialized and purposefully expanded my range of treatments. Regular continuing education and professional exchange are, for me, a natural part of a field of medicine that is constantly evolving—for the benefit of your health.
